Little Lambs
Last Sunday I taught Sunday school.
Or so I thought.
One little one was crying. She cried and cried --and cried !
Screeched!. Her back arched and her face turned red.
Could she have a seizure? I wasn't sure.
Terrifying.
What was I thinking?
This was awful!
How long until the parents come back?
Some of the kids seemed tense....
a few covered their ears.
What would I teach them?
I couldn't think.
Forget the lesson.
I decided to feed gram crackers (on sale that week)
and serve grape juice in little pouches (less spillage)
Finally the screaming abated.
The little screamer came to the table.
She was welcomed, hugged and given a juice--
by one of the other little lambs.
I had taught them nothing, but witnessed a miracle:
The communion of Honey Maid Gram Crackers and Capri Sun
served by the forgiving and received by the repentant.
When her momma came the little unsilent lamb gave me a hug and turned her cheek--
to receive a kiss.
